Dr Steven Joung

MBCHB, FRANZCOG, DDU, CMFM

Dr Steven Joung is a specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with sub-specialty certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine.

He worked as the Head of Department of Maternal Fetal Medicine Department at Nepean Hospital between 2015 – 2022, responsible for managing a high risk obstetric team for the patients of the Penrith and Greater Western region. During this time he also worked as a Clinical Lead in Maternal Transfer Project in Nepean, Blue Mountain and Western NSW area, overseeing various regional hospitals’ maternal transfer procedures and outcomes to ensure safe transfer process for pregnant women.

Steven’s main area of interest is provision of specialist ultrasound and counselling services for women with obstetric complications, including ultrasound services for fertility investigation, preconception counselling, first trimester screening for aneuploidy or pre-eclampsia, invasive diagnostic testing, and tertiary scans for fetal abnormality or intrauterine growth restriction.
